Welcome to the sixth season of Formula E Dream Team... To encourage a good and healthy competition, there will be no charge for the 2024 season!

As is traditional there are no cash prizes - achievements will be rewarded with appropriate accolades including rave reviews and entry into the history books! The competition is open to all current and former KCC, Jacobs, Telent and Amey colleagues as well as their families - one entry per person! It would be great to see some new faces on the grid to contest the Rookie of the Year title.

Each team selection must comprise:

⇒ 5 drivers with a combined 'power rating' totalling at least 14 units but not exceeding 16 units;

⇒ No two drivers from the same team;

⇒ 3 teams with a combined 'power rating' totalling at least 8 units but no more than 10 units.

Submissions must be made using the online ENTER - which will validate selections and prevent duplicate squads during the registration process. This ensures that no two teams have the same composition at the outset - although identical squads may arise during the season... either by accident or design! If there are problems with the ENTER please leave a message on the Home Page blog.

The main opportunity for glory is to top the League table after 17 races, but others may wish to contest the bottom of table tussle, known as the Turner Prize in F1DT - still awating any alternative suggestions for FEDT!

Points will be awarded after the race, which may not necessarily be the result at the chequered flag and based upon the official announcement on the FIA website; allowing for any post race penalties. Further changes to the scoring may be applied at the referee's discretion, based upon disciplinary/appeal hearings, until 24 hours after the race conclusion.

As each event is time (and battery) limited, the full race distance is not known until after the chequered flag, but will be used to award the lap points. Any changes to the points awarded by the FIA will be applied during scoring although total points will be rounded up to the nearest whole value. There are no pits stops in Formula E, so these cannot be awarded and the previous Fanboost feature is no longer used.

Should a driver be replaced (either permanently or temporarily) due to injury/illness/incompetence, the new driver will automatically assume their accumulated points and 'power rating' of the predecessor and continue to score on their behalf. Should two drivers swap teams mid-season, there is the potential for illegal squads to occur; Team Principals will have a maximum of one race to make a pit stop and legalise their selections. After this time any remaining illegal entries will incur a penalty where only the points for the highest scoring driver from that constructor will score points, i.e. One driver will score zero points. If a team withdraw mid-season or other complications arise then these will be considered at that time...

In order to make team owners consider their options carefully there will be 3 opportunities during the 2024 season to make up to 2 modifications to your team on each occasion. You may choose when to make those critical team adjustments, although you cannot make changes at two consecutive venues... so choose wisely! Managers will retain all the points scored to date by their current team, i.e. they will not retrospectively be awarded the points earned by any new signings. At the pit-stop managers will be allowed to duplicate the team formation of one or more of their rivals but must still comply with the 5 driver and 3 team rules, as well as the total power ratings. All modifications should be submitted using the online system but in the event of technical problems please use the Blog to leave a message.

The Golden Egg and Wooden Spoon competitions will be determined once the number of entrants is known. These will follow the same rules as F1DT with the highest scoring team from each match progressing to the next round in the Golden Egg and the lowest scoring team from each match through to the next round of the Wooden Spoon. Should more than 32 teams participate, the First Round matches will become 'Cells' of three or more in order to accommodate everyone - the highest (or lowest) from each 'Cell' will progress accordingly... in the event of a tie-break, the scores from Race 1 will be used as a determining factor!

The referee for the 2024 season will be yours truly (Der Webmeister) and all his decisions will be final - be warned, he's in charge!
